POLARGATE
Senior maintenance and evolution, on a monthly retainer.

Care

Care keeps live software secure, fast and improving: tickets through a ServiceDesk, a contracted pool of senior hours, a monthly audit and an agent that proposes fixes a human reviews. From 850 EUR per month.

Capabilities

How it works

  1. 01Week 1 to 2

    Takeover and baseline audit

We take access to the repository, hosting, database, domain and analytics, then audit the live site from the outside and the code from the inside. You get a ranked list of findings and a short risk register, so you see the real state of what you own before anything is touched.

  2. 02Week 2 to 4

    Close the critical findings

Critical issues go first: security headers, exposed permissions, soft 404s, broken indexation, performance blockers. Each fix travels as a reviewed pull request and is deployed with your approval, so the retainer starts from a clean, known baseline instead of inheriting debt quietly.

  3. 03Every month

    The monthly cycle

Tickets flow through the ServiceDesk against your hour pool, the scheduled audit runs over the live site and the repository, and the fix agent proposes changes as pull requests. A human reviews and merges. At the end of the month you get a report of what changed, why and at what cost in hours.

  4. 04Every quarter

    Review and re-plan

Every quarter we look at consumption, recurring issues and what the product needs next. The hour pool is resized up or down to match reality, evolution work is agreed as a small roadmap, and anything that has grown into a project is quoted separately instead of eating the retainer.

What Care is

Care is a monthly retainer for software that is already live. Polargate keeps your website, portal, mobile app or internal tool secure, fast, current and improving, month after month, and the person who answers your ticket is the same senior engineer who can read the code. It is maintenance plus evolution: patches and fixes, but also the small improvements a product needs to stay useful.

Who it is for

Mid-market companies, roughly 50 to 500 employees, that depend on a digital surface they cannot staff a full team for. Hotels and hotel groups, industrial and B2B companies, event businesses, corporate portals. Two situations fit best: you launched with Polargate and want that work protected, or you inherited a site from an agency that has gone quiet and you need someone senior to take it over. We work in English, Spanish and Dutch.

How it works

Every request enters a multi-tenant ServiceDesk, by email or through your client portal. Each ticket is triaged, estimated in hours and charged against your monthly pool, which you can watch in real time. An autonomous fix agent classifies the ticket and prepares the change as a pull request in your repository. A human reviews every diff before it merges. Two rules are enforced in the database itself: nothing deploys on its own, and the agent never replies to a client unreviewed. Once a month a scheduled audit runs over the live site and the repository, covering security headers, structured data and AI search readiness, Core Web Vitals, broken routes and dead dependencies. It reports; it does not deploy. For Hotel Marien that routine runs on day one of every month.

What it costs

From 850 EUR per month. The retainer buys a contracted pool of hours split between planned maintenance and urgent work, with clear rules for overflow, and hours left over go into improvements rather than disappearing. The price above the entry level depends on the surface under care: how many applications, how many languages, which integrations, and whether native releases in the App Store and Google Play are in scope. Work that is really a new project is quoted as one, so the retainer never turns into a slow, invisible bill.

What you get

A named senior engineer, a first response within 48 business hours, and a monthly report that says what changed and why. The audits are real work, not a screenshot of a dashboard: the August 2026 cycle on Hotel Talavera confirmed 48 findings and closed them, including 16 real bugs, and the same month on Hotel Marien closed 33. Ownership stays with you: repository, Supabase project, hosting, secrets and domains. If you ever stop, you take the whole stack with a written handover.

FAQ

Questions, answered

How much does a website maintenance retainer cost per month?
Polargate Care starts at 850 EUR per month. That covers a contracted pool of senior hours split between planned maintenance and urgent work, ServiceDesk and client portal access, the monthly audit and the monthly report. Above the entry level the price depends on how many applications, languages and integrations are covered, and whether App Store and Google Play releases are in scope. Larger evolutions are quoted separately.
How is this different from a traditional agency maintenance plan?
Three differences. The person answering your ticket is a senior engineer who reads the code, not a first line agent who forwards it. The work is measured in a visible pool of hours, so you can see what you paid for. And an autonomous agent prepares routine fixes as pull requests, which makes small work cheap enough to actually do, while a human still reviews every diff before it merges.
Do you maintain a site or app you did not build?
Yes, if we can take it over properly. Care starts with an audit of the live site and the repository, so both sides know what is there before anyone commits to hours. Stacks we do not work in, or code we cannot get access to, are not a fit and we say so. If the state is bad, a remediation project comes first and the retainer starts after it.
Is it safe to let an AI agent change my production code?
The agent never touches production. It classifies the ticket and opens a pull request in your repository, and a human reviews the diff before anything is merged or deployed. Two limits are enforced in the database itself: no automatic deployment and no automatic reply to a client. There is also a daily spending cap. You keep exactly the review trail you would have with a human only team.
What happens to hours I do not use, and can I cancel?
Unused planned hours go into improvement work rather than being billed for nothing, following the rules written into your contract. Urgent hours sit in a separate pool with their own overflow rules. The retainer runs month to month after an initial minimum term, so you can pause or cancel, and if you leave you get a written handover of repository, backend, hosting, secrets and domains.
Do you offer 24/7 support?
No. Polargate is a senior led studio, not a call centre, and promising round the clock cover would be dishonest. Urgent tickets have their own pool of hours and are picked up ahead of planned work, with a first response within 48 business hours as the standing commitment. Coverage spans European and American business hours, from UTC minus 5 to UTC plus 1.
