Golf and premium leisure
Golf clubs, sports venues and premium leisure operators need multilingual sites, season aware rates, course content that holds up to an expert eye, and photography that stays fast on a phone. Polargate builds and maintains them.

What usually goes wrong
- Our green fees change with the season, and every price change means an email to an agency and a week of waiting.
- Half our players are British, French or Scandinavian, and the site only really works in Spanish.
- The photos are the reason people book, and the reason the site crawls on a phone.
- The tee sheet, the restaurant bookings and the shop are three systems that do not talk to each other.
- We publish a tournament or a new menu, and it sits in someone's inbox for a week.
- Google still shows last season's prices and the old opening hours.
- Visitors ask us the same things before every round: handicap limits, dress code, buggies, whether the course is open.
What we build
- A multilingual site with its own URLs, hreflang and structured data per language, built so each version is complete rather than a half translated copy (Estepona Golf runs in Spanish, English and French with 508 of 508 keys matched).
- Course content that survives an expert reader: interactive hole by hole, a printed style scorecard with the real distances for every tee set, and a WHS course handicap calculator using official federation slope and course rating data.
- Season aware rates: green fee tables with a season toggle, edited as content by your team instead of shipped as an image or a PDF.
- Handoff to the systems you already use: deep links into your tee sheet or booking engine carrying language, date and rate, plus booking action markup so search engines and assistants know where to send a player.
- Clubhouse revenue pages: restaurant and full menu in every language, shop, tournaments, weddings and corporate events, with lead capture landing in your own database.
- An admin panel your team runs: logins, roles, news and offers published in minutes, on your own Supabase backend with row level security.
- Photography led design that stays fast: modern image formats, responsive sizing, compressed heroes, checked on real mobile viewports.
What changes in golf, sport and premium leisure
The season is the product. Green fees, the tee sheet, restaurant covers and event enquiries all move with the calendar and the weather, and the site has to move with them without a developer on call. Players arrive from several countries at once, so a site that only works properly in one language quietly loses the visitor who was ready to book. And this is a heavily photographed sector: the images that sell the course are the same images that make the page slow on a phone at the first tee.
Two things are specific here. The booking usually lives somewhere else, in a tee sheet or a booking engine you already pay for, so the job of the site is to hand the player over with the right language, date and rate. And the detail matters to people who know the game: a scorecard with the wrong tee distances, or a handicap table that does not match the federation rating, costs you credibility with exactly the visitor you want.
What we build
For Estepona Golf we built a trilingual site (Spanish, English, French) from scratch: home, the course, an interactive hole by hole with a printed style scorecard for four tee sets, a rates page with a season toggle, the clubhouse hub with restaurant and a 130 dish menu, shop, events, news and contact. Each language has its own URLs, its own hreflang and its own structured data, with 508 of 508 translation keys matched across all three.
We also built the parts the club runs itself: an admin panel with roles for publishing news, lead capture from the contact and events forms, and a course handicap calculator using the official RFEG slope and course rating data for the club's three rated tee sets. All of it sits on a backend the club owns, on Supabase and Vercel, moved off the prototype tool the project started in.
What it costs
A full multilingual site of this kind starts from 7,600 EUR, covering design, build, technical SEO per language, analytics, security and launch support. Every engagement starts with a paid, fixed price Discovery Sprint, quoted before any code is written, so scope and budget are agreed on paper. Continuous care after launch starts from 850 EUR a month through our ServiceDesk. Infrastructure stays cheap and yours: the Estepona Golf backend runs at about 10 USD a month.
How we prove it
We do not publish traffic or booking figures for Estepona Golf, because the new site had not yet replaced the old one on the club's own domain when this page was written, and inventing numbers is worse than having none. What we can show is the engineering record. The build went through two adversarial audit rounds before merge (37 findings, then 26, seven confirmed between them, all fixed) and ended with a clean TypeScript build. The hero image went from 1.3 MB to 251 KB. The federation tee ratings were mapped hole by hole against the club's printed scorecard, because that is the kind of mistake a golfer spots in ten seconds.
