Hamburg: same time zone, English on the project
Hamburg and Madrid share a clock, so a Hamburg project runs on one working day with no handover. We work in English, not in German, and it is better to know that before we start.
What we build for Hamburg companies
Hamburg is a city of trade, logistics, media and consumer brands, and most of those companies run on a lean in-house team plus a stack of suppliers. We take the software end: the public site, the product or booking front end, the client portal, the native app and the backend that feeds all of them. React, TypeScript, Tailwind and Supabase, hosted on Vercel, apps on Capacitor with over the air updates, and a database whose access rules and handling of secrets we can show you rather than describe.
The clock
Hamburg and Madrid are in the same time zone. Nine in the morning is nine in the morning, holidays aside, so there is no window to catch and nothing waiting until tomorrow. A bug reported after your stand up is usually looked at before lunch. This is the least exotic advantage on this page and the one clients notice most.
Languages
We work in English, Spanish and Dutch. We do not work in German, and we would rather say it here than surprise you in week three. In practice that is workable: the project language is English, and German user-facing copy is written by your team or by a native writer, with us handling the structure, the SEO fields and the review.
Why a Hamburg business would choose us
Because the person who scopes the work is the person who writes it. Polargate is two people, Pedro Ciordia, founder and CTO, on the engineering and Andrés Ciordia, Chief AI Officer, on the AI side, with specialists brought in per project. You deal with one of them directly, not with a layer in front of them. Two things matter more than they sound: your backend stays on infrastructure you or we own, never on a managed platform you would have to migrate off later, and every project has an owner who can be reached without a ticket queue in front of him. When it goes live, support runs on a service desk with your own portal, your hours and your history.
What we do not claim
We have no German client to point to yet, and no staff in Hamburg: the workspace we keep there, at CS Business Center on Am Sandtorkai, is a contracted one, and POLARGATE, S.L. is registered in Madrid. We operate in the German market and serve it in German hours.
