# Cookie Policy.

This website counts its visits without cookies. Google Analytics, which uses cookies, only loads if you accept it.

## 01 What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file that a website stores on your device. Other technologies, such as local storage, do something similar. We use the word cookies for all of them.

We do not use advertising or marketing cookies.

## 03 Our own counter, without cookies

To know how many people visit and what they do, we run our own counter ( pg.js ). It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so it counts every visit, whether or not you accept cookies. It keeps a daily fingerprint that cannot be traced back to you and never records what you type. The details are in the [privacy policy](https://polargate.ai/privacy).

## 04 Google Analytics

Google Analytics does not load until you accept analytics cookies. Until then, no request goes to Google. If you accept, Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC process the usage data on our behalf. If you withdraw your consent, we delete the Google Analytics cookies we can reach and it stops measuring you on your next visit.

## 05 How to change your choice

Use "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page to accept or reject analytics whenever you like. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. You can also delete cookies from your browser settings.

## 06 Legal basis

Necessary cookies rest on our legitimate interest in making the site work. Analytics cookies rest on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and the e-privacy rules), which you can withdraw at any time. Our own cookieless counter rests on our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used (Art. 6(1)(f)).
